Power of Visualization

I have always had trouble with those exercises that ask you to visualize your perfect day.  I think it is just too many components for me to handle at one time.  However, this week at work we were asked to watch a video.  In the video (which unfortunately are not available to the public), they were having the staff at this company think of one specific area they wanted to improve.  They were asked to visualize this working as efficiently as possible.  Then they were asked, how does this look at 100% implementation, what about 50% or 0%.  Suddenly a light went off for me!  What if I were to imagine different areas of my life at 100% of what I wanted them to be?  How would this look?  THEN, what steps do I need to take to make this a reality?  So, simple right?  I found a little quiz online, and I used the categories from it to come up with areas to think about:

Physical- Could include exercise, diet, what you look like, how well you take care of yourself.

Relationships- Family, significant other

Social- Friendships, how often you get out and do things you enjoy, helping your community.

Spiritual- If you have a practice, is it everything you want it to be? How often do you think about things you are thankful for etc.

Mental- This one had strange questions, first it asked about listening to motivational stuff and it also talked about not gossiping, education would be here too.

Financial- how well are you taking care of this area, plans to be debt free, budget, etc.

Business- How is your career going? What are you doing or planning to do to improve it?

Personally, I chose my three top areas.  I don't want to get overwhelmed.

Next, visualize this area being perfect to you.  What does it look like? Write it down.

Now, what things do you need to start or stop doing in order to make this your reality?  Make a list and as soon as possible, TAKE THE FIRST STEP!

No Idea What You Want Out of Life? STEP ONE

Me either! Yea! Join the club.  It is okay.  We will figure it out together.  One step at a time.  I know this sounds crazy.  How can I help you if I don't know either, but I had this amazing idea and I think it is going to work..... want to experiment with me?  Here we go....

So, I have been answering all of those questions that people say will help you find your life's purpose.  But, all of my answers just seem well.... blah.... I do know how to be happy.  But, I am not exactly sure how to turn those things into a career or businesss.  I had the thought today that maybe that is not my purpose.  Maybe that isn't why I'm here.  I know one BIG reason I am having this life right here is to experience and try as much as life has to offer.  It is probably the number one thing I enjoy doing.  But, I still wonder if I can't turn some of my other passions into some type of life path.

Here is STEP ONE-

Today I started writing down things that make me happy. NOT off the top of my head.  For the next several days, anytime I do something that makes me really happy or I find enjoyable, I am putting it into a notepad file on my phone.  Easy Peasy!  So far today, I wrote two things. 1.  Talking with a coworker about some solutions for problems at work (this was so cool because she wanted to share and talk about TIPS not just COMPLAIN!!) 2.  Gave an idea to a friend who was worriedabout something   going on with her daughter. Actually it was the look on her face when I gave her a new way to phrase what she was trying to get across to her.  Her face just lit up like, YES! she will get that!

So, the next steps will be actually designing our dream jobs (at least as far as we can get without really knowing yet) and working backward to create our visions!

I would love to hear what ideas you have come up with! Please share!
